Russia is one of the key figures in the Arctic due to its significant hydrocarbon reserves. The relevance of the development of offshore fields is obvious. However, the existing harsh climatic conditions complicate existing work and become a "stumbling block" of the selecting and designing an ice-resistant structure. The article provides an analytical review of the main types of offshore oil and gas facilities used in shallow water, the using of which is possible in the conditions of the Russian Arctic. Moreover, the advantages and disadvantages of this facilities are identified.
